Key April 2026 Tax Deadlines for Dallas-Fort Worth Businesses

Spring is a critical compliance season for business owners. With over 25 years of experience guiding companies across the Dallas-Fort Worth area and globally, MJ Ahmed CPA PLLC knows that missing a filing date can lead to unnecessary penalties. To help you manage your cash flow and corporate tax planning, we have outlined the essential April 2026 business tax deadlines.

April 15, 2026: Mid-Month Filing Requirements

The middle of the month brings several major obligations, particularly for corporate entities and employers.

C-Corporations

Calendar-year C-Corps must file their 2025 income tax return (Form 1120) and pay any remaining balance. If your books require more time, you can request an automatic six-month extension using Form 7004. Keep in mind that an extension to file is not an extension to pay; you must still estimate and deposit your tax liability to avoid late payment penalties. Additionally, your first installment for 2026 estimated taxes is due on this date.

Trusts, Estates, and Payroll Deposits

  • Fiduciary Returns: Timely file your 2025 calendar year Form 1041 (U.S. Income Tax Return for Estates and Trusts) or formally request an extension.
  • Payroll & Non-Payroll Withholding: Employers subject to the monthly deposit rule must remit Social Security, Medicare, and withheld income taxes for all March payments.

April 30, 2026: Quarter-End Wrap-Up

By the end of the month, employers must finalize their first-quarter payroll reporting.

  • Form 941: File your Employer's Quarterly Federal Tax Return for Q1 2026. If you have already deposited all taxes on time and in full, your deadline is extended to May 11.
  • Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA): Deposit your tax owed through March if the liability exceeds $500.

Weekend, Holiday, and Disaster Area Rules

Standard IRS rules dictate that if a due date falls on a weekend or legal holiday, it pushes to the next business day. Furthermore, businesses located in federally declared disaster areas may qualify for automatic deadline extensions.
